This visualizer extends the Starboard, a collaboration with Fernando Rocha (percussion) and Peter Bussigel (instrument building). From Bussigel: “Both an electroacoustic instrument and a digital controller, Starboard is a system for navigating between the promise of the computer and the truth of a nail sticking out of a board.”
Premiered in Sao Paolo, Brazil at the International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research and performed at the Technosonics Festival in Charlottesville, Virginia with percussionist Fernando Rocha.
