More than ever, communicating Science to the general public and funders is necessary for successful research. Arts are one pathway for effective and accessible Science communication. Simultaneously, the Sciences offer an incredible diversity of inspirational content for artists. But collaboration between artists and scientists is not without its pitfalls.
In this workshop I will introduce Science-Art collaborations I have helmed from the past decade, including my time at Meta as an artist-engineer translating acoustical research into inviting demos, fruitful collaborations with a variety of biologists that have resulted in publication, and work through as a group different problems I have encountered as an Artist-Scientist. Attendees will leave with strategies that you, as an artist or scientist, may use to most benefit from a Science x Art collaboration.
